Turkey received 72 FW 190 Aa-3 (a for auslandisch - foreign) aircraft between October 1942 and March 1943. The first FW 190 Aa-3 was built in August 1942. The FW 190 Aa-3 received its own Werk Nummer block, 0134 101 - 0134 172 (although it is not known if W.Nr 110, 123, 146 and 148 were handed over).

Graveyard Shift. In 1943 Hitler attempted to bring Turkey into the Axis Powers by gifting them with 50 Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighters. Turkey remained neutral during WWII but continued to provide Germany with metals such as chromium and iron ore. The Fw-190s were never used or seen again, until recently when they were discovered in a Turkish airport.

This is from one of the Turkish museum "experts"-. "If recovered and allowed to be exhibited, they may be the first Focke-Wulf FW 190 planes to be exhibited in the world," he says. He doesn't get out much I guess. Buried airplanes seems to be the rage these days. These are the only ones I know of for certain to exist.

The FW-190 was advanced and lightweight. It was considered a match for the early versions of the Spitfire. Uluhan Hasdal, an amateur aviation historian, believes that he has located 50 of those planes buried underneath an air base in the city of Kayseri. Turkey provided iron ore and Chromium to Germany.
